Middle class 'crisis' for Democrats

"As Americans become even modestly wealthier their affinity for Democrats apparently falls off. With middle income voters, it is Democrats -- the self-described(exactly) party of the middle class -- who are running far behind Republicans, the oft-described(by the Media) party of the rich," the report says.
This has been true for many election cycles, what is taking the american people so long to figure out that the Democrats ARE NOT the party of he people!!!

Loss of middle class a 'crisis' for Democrats - The Washington Times:

"The Democratic Party, the self-proclaimed defender of the middle class, was trounced by Republicans among those voters in the 2004 election, according to a Democratic advocacy group that says the party faces 'a crisis with the middle class.' "

David Brooks does nice analysis on these trends. Republicans winning among families while Democrats winning among singles. Read the Economist a few years back (I'll look on the internet) where they wrote about Hastert's and Pelosi's districts. Shows the start contrast between the populations each represents.
