Free and Equal "Illinois" Elections

When I first heard of House Bill 0758 (HB0758) , I thought it was a good idea that would never go far. But thanks to Blogs like Red Chicago: Install Democracy to Illinois - not Iraq(Just Kidding) but especially Random Act Of Kindness , and many, many others. There is a good chance that thing might pass.

We here in Illinois have stood by to long as incumbents rule the day. It is even worse here where I'm sitting, Chicago!!!!. This town has been ruled by the same machine for too long. This bill is a good step towards making elections in this town mean something. The next step is equally important, getting qualified people to run!!! In the last mayoral election, Daley did have two opponents, but no mater how bad Daley turns out, you didn't want him to loose. That is what has to change, and if it takes a green, progressive, independent or libertarian to change things around here. Lets do it!!!

But first Visit Random Act Of Kindness, they have much more information and some good links/ commentary, plus they have the all-important ways to contact your representatives.

Hi Red Chicago, I am cruising the blogs looking for any information on blue and landed here. Although Free and Equal is interesting and got my attention, I will add this knowledge to my storehouse of information. I never know where blue will take me. Have a great day!
