Brarack's first votes

Time to check up with our new Senator, (Warning, puff piece ahead.)Sen. Obama What else would you expect from the front page of the Tribune.

Any way here are his votes, you decide.

In his first three months on Capitol Hill, Sen. Barack Obama has voted with the majority twice on five significant issues.

Issue: Confirmation of Condoleezza Rice as secretary of state
Jan. 26 (Senate approved, 85-13)

Vote: Yes


Issue: Confirmation of Alberto Gonzales as attorney general
Feb. 3 (Senate approved, 60-36)

Vote: No


Issue: Lawsuit reform

Feb. 10 (Senate passed, 72-26)
Measure reducing big-dollar court judgments by changing the rules for class-action suits

Vote: Yes


Issue: Bankruptcy reform

March 10 (Senate passed, 74-25)

I wouldn't put to much stock in Obamo in '08. The DNC doesen't even have him listed as our senator yet,DNC - Illinois

I sympathized with Obama telling the Trib on how he's reaching his limit with people pulling him aside in public spots for pictures and things.

I see Dick Durbin often at O'Hare and he's totally ignored. I've stopped and shook his hand and just told him a word or two on issues of the day. Durbin always thanks me. Always asks where I live.
